How we built this comparison: Based on Whova’s product, pricing, security and help centre pages, their blog on white-label event apps, release notes through August 2026, and G2 and Capterra verified reviews, as of September 2026. Book a 30-minute demo to see the difference firsthand.
Your listing in the App Store and Play Store, your icon and your publisher name, so attendees download you rather than a platform.

Enter what an event cost, and see it next to the pipeline and revenue it created, for one event or the whole calendar.

Keep each attendee’s event history in one place. RSVPs, attendance, sessions, and booth visits stay connected, so you know how they’ve engaged with you over time.

“Samaaro has truly streamlined and simplified our communication with channel partners, making collaboration more efficient and flawless than ever before, helping us build stronger relationships.”
For marketing-led event programmes, yes. Teams at ICICI Lombard, PepsiCo, Informa Markets, Dr. Reddy’s and Bureau Veritas run their programmes on Samaaro. Whova is built app-first, around one excellent shared attendee app. Samaaro is built for the marketing team that hosts the event and owns the pipeline behind it.
Several things, and we will say so on the call. Attendees genuinely like their app, it holds 4.9 on Google Play from over 31,000 ratings, and a good share of any audience already has it installed. Their networking and community board are the best-liked part of the category. They have been building since 2013, they have won the Event Technology Awards nine years running, and for an academic or scientific conference with abstracts and a call for speakers, they built the product for exactly that. They can also have a basic app live in a day, where we take about a month.
Yes. Your listing in the App Store and Play Store, your icon, your publisher name, and the event site on your own domain. Whova takes the opposite approach deliberately. Your logo, colours and splash screen sit inside the shared Whova app, and their own blog explains why they will not white label it, so treat that as settled rather than something that changes during your evaluation.
Yes, once, and that is the honest cost of moving. The other half of it is that they download an app carrying your name, and it is the same app at every event you run afterwards. With a shared app they re-enter someone else’s product each time and it never becomes yours.
Yes. Samaaro has a budget planner, so planned spend against actual sits beside pipeline influenced and revenue attributed, for one event or the whole calendar, filtered by quarter, region, job title or event type. Whova reports engagement well inside a single event, but there is no budget module, so there is nowhere to enter the cost in the first place.
Yes. Native two-way sync with Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Zoho CRM, Marketo and Oracle Eloqua on a standard plan, with CRM sync health monitoring built in. Whova publishes no API reference and no webhooks, so connections are built one at a time. Their HubSpot link arrived in May 2026 and pushes registration data one way, and Salesforce runs through Zapier. Worth asking any vendor for their API documentation and webhooks, and which fields come back the other way.
Yes. Invites, confirmations, passes, reminders and follow-ups go out on WhatsApp and email from one workflow, through the official WhatsApp Business API, with delivery and read tracking on every message. Whova is email and in-app only.
Both hold SOC 2 Type 2, so nobody should pick between us on certificates. Samaaro is also ISO 27001 and ISO 27001:2022 certified, and compliant with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and PCI DSS, with SSO and role-based access, all published at trust.samaaro.com. The one question worth putting to Whova in writing is company sign-on, since nothing in their published documentation covers SSO, SAML or SCIM.
Yes, and migration is included. A named onboarding manager moves past attendee lists, event history, templates and CRM connections across, and most teams are live in about a month. You do not have to move everything at once: run your next event on Samaaro, see how it goes, then move the rest of the year across. Whatever you decide, export your past attendee lists while your Whova account is still open.
